2 Years Old!!

Well today marks the day I began using Blogger. My first post was on Monday, September 20, 2004. It had bad spelling and word use, but it was my first post and since then I have developed a better vocabulary and spelling. I thought I'd share this with you. I know its not a BIG deal, but aside from a few gaps between posts, this is the first time I have stuck with something for THAT long. So for me atleast, its a big deal. so ... YAY!!!!

Security Vs. The Public

Ok, something has been bugging me latley, and its something I deal with everyday. I work security for the state of california. I guard a building in the Los Angeles area. And in this building we have an Xray and metal detector machine combo. Anyone who enters has to follow the security procedures before they can enter. The rules that are in place arent difficult. Same rules apply that are in use at LAX with the exception of shoes. And a new one we've done is the removal of all belts. Well, most of the time people's reaction to this "rule" varies. Some say this, "belts!?, are you serious?"..others say "OH!?? Beeeelts....ok"... I really dont mind getting the 2nd reaction but usually and for the past few weeks it has happend 2 to 3 times a day. We get someone who thinks they're better than all of us, and say "oh I dont have to take off my belt, it never goes off"....well we usually say "weather it goes off or not, you still have to take off your belt" and their response is this, "but iT NEVER GOES OFF!!!"....and we say what we said again, and they're like "you guys are fucken stupid, fuck you" and this is exactly what this one guy said last thursday, and after saying that, we told him to leave, and at first he wasnt leaving but since there's no other way to get in, he had no choice and left. These are only but a FEW incidents we get at work. Most of the time they get crazy, but they do what they're told. Why do people react to this. We had to implement this rule because about 2 months ago, we had an individual enter our building with a gun in the belt. We were checking belts, but only if they went off when the person carrying it crossed the metal detector. But now they all must take off the belt and its a rule that only takes about 3 seconds to do, 4 or more if your bigger. But its for their own saftey and yet they react like its a HUGE problem. The point is that people are not that greatfull to us security officers who yea, we just stand there all day (8 to 10 hours on our feet) trying to prevent anyone with a bad agenda entering our building. I hope things change and people understand that we do this because there are people out there who are out there to hurt you, and will do anything to do it. And we are there to stop them...or atleast help stop them. Here's hoping for the best.

Sunday Night Thoughts: The Start

Sunday Night Thoughts: The Regular Melow-day
_________________________________________________

So its sunday, Saturday has come and gone, as well as sun"DAY". Its amazing how during the week, each day goes by so slow. An 8 hour shift or a 10 feels like its double. And yet on the weekend, each day goes by so fast. Today, was just like any other sunday. Nothing happend at all and again, I did nothing as well ;), but I did the norm. I watched a few movies from netflix, great service by the way. I cleaned up my room a bit. I also did some erans, got some water bottles at sav-on, 2 for 5 bucks! came back home, cooked something to eat for me and my little brother. After that he went to my room to play Kingdom Hearts on my Ps2 and i was online here on the laptop getting some podcasts for my ipod and psp. Speaking of my ipod, I have a serious problem that I dont think is fixable without a fee. The little socket where you connect the headphones in, is broken! thats like a car having non-working tires! if I connect my headphones, only the left channel is heard, and the right one is quite, unless I fiddle with it in which case I think its making it worst. I dont know what to do so I guess I'll just leave it alone. For podcasts I guess I'll use my PSP and for music, a CD. :( it sucks though. After trying to fix my ipod i put it to charge and left it alone. By this time my bro was hungry again and so was i so we drove to bobo's down the street and got some munchies. Its amazing what you can get for 5 bucks!! ...I got a double cheeseburger (its huge!), fries (also huge), a large coke. My bro got chicken strips, fries and a medium sprite with no ice for just $4.87!!!! its freakin sweet! After that amazing deal, we got home and he went on to play Kingdom Hearts and I went to take a quick nap...turns out 2 hours passed and when I woke up...I came online, talked to a few friends and then posted my earlier post....which was followed by this one which will now end. I dont know, I got some clothes to wash, lunch to make for work and a TV show to watch in about 30mins (family Guy). Until next sunday, bye for now.

Sunday, Monday.... Friday

Well, its Sunday, September 17, 2006..And its the start of pay-week for me. It happens every other 2 weeks. And after last, which was a very strange and crazy week. I cannot help but look foward as to what this week holds in store. Last week though, was very crazy. The week began normal, up until my boss quit. For reasons that I have yet to know, he just quit. I was speculating that it was because of some financial problems, but its none of my buisness so I did not and will not dwell on it much. After that shake-up..and it was a shake-up because it left our post without a Post Commander, there was the removal of an employee. He acted in a way he wasnt suppose to, but he did what he did and got the result he deserved. I know I can say what he did, but I rather not. And then even later on in the week, by friday I guess. We find out that a Sgt. from another post was intrested in our location, but when she spoke to our sgt. she said we were "un-professional" which I think is very un-professional of her to say. We are there doing a job that most of us have been doing for a little over year now, and she just comes one day, havent never been there before, and says that we are un-professional??? what the fuck or WHO the fuck does she think she is? I know she's a sarge, and I have worked with her in the past, but that doesnt give her ANY right to say something like that. She's never been there, nor has she even met us, yea I've worked with her, but Im not the same. It just really annoyes me. But anywho, that was the week of last. I hope that this week, the whole workplace changes to a better note. I'm tired of all the politics that are taking place. Its too much for a job that is not complicated or hard at all. I follow this rule "Come to work, do the job at hand, and clock out home". Thats all. Other people have different agendas that fall on "come to work, fuck that chick, fight this dude..then go home". Its pretty crazy. But lets see what happens. I havent written here in a while, I had some PC problems, but I'll write more. Until next time. Bye for now.
